<br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />SPECIAL SESSION <br />City Hall, Fifth floor <br />6801 Delmar Blvd <br />6:00 p.m. <br />August 11, 2014 <br /> <br /> <br />A Special Session of the City Council of University City held in City Hall, fifth floor, August 11, 2014. <br />Mayor Shelley Welsch called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. In addition to Mayor Welsch the <br />following members of Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Rod Jennings <br />Dr. Paulette Carr <br />Mr. Stephen Kraft <br />Mr. Terry Crow <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br />Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> <br />Also in attendance was City Manager Lehman Walker. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Mr. Glickert moved to approve the <br />agenda as presented, was seconded by Mr. Jennings and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch noted that it was Council’s job to choose an auditing firm for the City of University City. <br />She said at Council’s last Study session members were given the proposals that were presented. <br />Mayor Welsch asked members which firm they supported. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft, Mr. Sharpe, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Jennings and Mayor Welsch supported RubinBrown auditing <br />firm. <br /> <br />Dr. Carr and Mr. Crow supported Schowalter & Jabouri auditing firm. <br /> <br />Mr. Jennings moved to select Rubin Brown as University City’s auditing firm, was seconded by Mr. <br />Glickert and carried by a majority vote with Dr. Carr and Mr. Crow voting Nay. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert stated the reason he liked RubinBrown was the professional development opportunities <br />they offered. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked for a motion to approve the amended Resolution 2014 – 37. Mr. Jennings moved <br />for approval, was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and the motion carried by a majority with Dr. Carr and Mr. <br />Crow voting Nay. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked if there were any changes to the agenda for Council’s Regular session. <br /> <br />City Manager Walker stated that the Public Hearing for the Public Block Grant would be removed. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch adjourned the meeting at 6:08 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Joyce Pumm, MRCC/MCC <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />
