Mr. Ollendorff stated that there was a public hearing, but the <br />minutes reflected that there were no residents in opposition present to speak. He will <br />check to see if the required notice was sent to notify these residents. Ms. Colquitt said that <br />these residents have a meeting the first Wednesday of each month and that she and Mr. <br />Sharpe could speak to them about it and take the letter, if needed. <br /> <br />The motion to approve carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA # 7 - PICNIC LIQUOR LICENSE - 500 BLOCK OF LELAND: <br /> <br />The University City Loop Foundation has made application for a liquor picnic license to sell <br />beer in the 500 block of Leland during an event tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June <br />17, 2000. The application has been properly completed and is ready for Council <br />consideration. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff stated that they are expecting the primary <br />audience to be between the ages of 20 - 50 years of age to attend this event. The radio <br />station and Vintage Vinyl are providing the monetary support. The stage is being hired by <br />them, as well. Responding further to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff feels that there will be <br />adequate security, but it is up to Council whether or not the liquor license is approved for <br />the event. Mr. Schoomer said that the manager of the beer sales concession is Jo Ree <br />Keller, who is a director for the Loop Community Foundation and the Special Business <br />District. She is well experienced with these types of events. This should be a good risk. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Wagner, Mr. Ollendorff stated that one of the conditions of approval was <br />that the proprietors would do a thorough cleanup job immediately following the end of the <br />event. Another condition is that they remove the portable toilets Monday morning. <br />Security is another condition, as well as paying the City for any expense that is incurred to <br />set the event up. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer said that this a daylight event only. It will not extend past 7:30 p.m. Mr. <br />Lieberman responded that their letter said 12 noon to 6 p.m. Mr. Ollendofff said that the <br /> <br /> <br />
