RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, University City seeks to have exceptional recreation facilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Park Commission deems it necessary to improve the swimming pool <br />to serve its citizens. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, as follows: <br /> <br />That application be made to the Landmark Local Parks Program of Missouri <br />Department of Natural Resources for a grant-in-aid of 65 percent of the total cost for <br />restoring the swimming pool, reimbursable upon completion by the state. Grant <br />funds are limited to a total of $144,000 in the statewide category. <br /> <br />That a project proposal be prepared and submitted to the Department of Natural <br />Resources through the Division of State Parks, Project and Grant Management <br />Section. <br /> <br />The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designee to sign and <br />execute the necessary documents for forwarding the project proposal application for <br />a grant-in-aid under the Landmark Local Parks Program. Further, the City Manager <br />or his designee is hereby authorized to sign the project agreement, subsequent <br />amendments, and other necessary documents between the City of University City <br />and the State of Missouri. <br /> <br />If a grant is awarded, the City of University City accepts all responsibilities under <br />the Landmark Local Parks Program regulations. This includes, but is not limited to <br />maintenance of the park for public outdoor recreation purposes, compliance with <br />the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, underground wiring of all <br />telephone and electrical wires under 15KV within the park both under tiffs project <br />and in the future, provisions of facilities which are accessible to and usable by <br />people with a disability. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY THIS ;~ DAY OF /VL~, 2000 <br /> <br /> CITY CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
