A bill was introduced by Mr. Munkel, entitled:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.08 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SIGNALS, BY REPEALING SECTION
10.08.040 THEREOF, RELATING TO UNAUTHORIZED SIGNAL DEVISES
PROHIBITED - NUISANCES DECLARED, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A
NEW SECTION 10.08.040, UNAUTHORIZED SIGNAL DEVICES PROHIBITED-
NUISANCES DECLARED, SO AS TO REQUIRE SIGNAL DEVICES, ETC; ON
ROADWAYS IN PRIVATE OWNERSHIP AND USED BY THE PUBLIC TO BE
APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS; CONTAINING A SAVING
CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.

The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8468.

Mr. Lieberman asked the City Manager what this bill was supposed to do. Mr. Ollendorff
said that it would give city management the right to review signs and say if they are
inappropriate on a street that the subdivision has opened to the public. It does not prevent
the subdivision from going ahead and putting them up, however.

3.
