Session 1783 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />May 17, 2000 <br /> <br />At a special budget meeting of the City Council of University City held in the E.O.C. room of <br />City Hall on Monday, May 17, 2000, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order <br />at 7:00 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br />Mr. Wayne Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff, Assistant City Manager Gregory Rose and <br />Finance Director Willie Norfleet. <br /> <br />3510 PARK MAINTENANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND FORESTRY: <br /> <br />Mr. OIlendorff pointed out that we do the tree removals with our own crew. The tree <br />trimming is contracted out. A lot of trimming is done by our own crew, but we can't do it <br />all. Responding to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff said that he was not recommending an <br />increase in custodial services for the park facilites as requested by the Park Commission. <br />Responding to Ms. Colquirt, Mr. Ollendorff reported that new equipment is going in at <br />Heman during this budget year, because there was some money left over in the park <br />improvement account. <br /> <br />3520 GOLF COURSE: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff reported no major changes. Improvements will gradually be made to the <br />course. Two of the fairways will be sodded this new year. Responding to Mr. Wagner, Mr. <br />Ollendorff stated that the revenue was $380,000. It is not a money maker in that we <br />make a profit. Whatever we make over the operating costs we put back into capital <br />improvements. <br /> <br />3530 RECREATION: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff pointed out that the increase in the temporary and part time pay is for added <br />the summer playground programs. Several teen recreation programs have been added, as <br />well. One new item, under 728.10, is to add teen scholarships to attend private not for <br />profit programs, such as COCA. Ms. Colquitt asked where the services and goods were <br /> <br /> <br />
