CONTRACT FOR SALE OF LAND BY AND BETWEEN LAND CLEARANCE FOR REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI AND CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI THIS AGREEMENT, made this day of , 1965, by and between LAND CLEAiL~NCE FOR REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOUri, a public body corporate and politic of the State of Missouri (hereinafter called 'Agency') having its office at 6500 Delmar Boulevard in the City of University City, Missouri, and CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, a public body corporate and politic of the State of Missouri (hereinafter called 'Public Body') with its principal office at 6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri, WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, in furtherance of the objectives of the Land Clearance for Redevelop- ment Authority law of the State of Missouri, the Agency has undertaken a program for the clearance and reconstruction or rehabilitation of blighted and insanitary areas in the City of University City (hereinafter called 'City'), and in this connec- tion is engaged in carrying out an Urban Renewal Project known as the 'Eastgate- Westgate (Mo. R-43) Project' (hereinafter called 'Project') in an area (hereinafter called 'Project Area') located in the City; and WHEREAS, as of the date of this Agreement, there has been prepared and approved by the Agency and Urban Renewal Plan for the Project consisting of 'the Urban Renewal Plan,' dated October 17, 1963, and approved by the City Council of the City on June 1, 1964, (which plan, as it may hereafter be amended from time to time, pur- suant to law, and as so constituted from time to time, is, unless otherwise indicated by the context hereinafter called 'Urban Renewal Plan'); and WHEREAS, a copy of the Urban Renewal Plan as constituted on the date of this Agreement has been recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, in Book 5517 of the St. Louis County Records, at page 266; and WHEREAS, in order to enable the Agency to achieve the objectives of the Urban Renewal Plan and particularly to make land in the Project Area available for rede- velopment by a public entity for an in accordance with the uses specified in the Urban Renewal Plan, both the Federal Govenment and the City have undertaken to pro- vide, and have provided substantial aid and assistance to the Agency through a Con- tract for Loan and Capital Grant dated August 31, 2964, in the case of the Federal -2-
