Introduced by Councilman Werner BILL NO. 65.72 (As amended) ORDINANCE NO. 4474 AN OKDINANCE AMENDING C~APTER 18 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO LICF/~SES AND BUSINESS REGULATIONS GENERALLY BY ERALING SECTION 18-20.4 THEREOF, RELATING TO FEES FOR FINANCIAL AND INSFRANCE OCCUPATIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 18-20.4. FEES FOR FINANCIAL AND INSURANCE OCCUPATIONS", BY CHANGING THE ANNUAL LICENSE FEE TO FIVE DOLLARS PER EMPLOYEE PER YEAR, WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS PER YEAR AND A MAXIMUM OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YEAR. CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORIRINED BY M 4M OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to licenses and business regulations generally is hereby amended by repealinS Section 18-20.4 thereof, relating to fees for financial and insurance occupations, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 18-20.4. Fees for financial and insurance occupations", by changing the annual license fee to five dollars per employee per year, with a minimum of two hundred dollars per year and a maximum of $1000.00 per year relating to the same subject, and re-enacting said section so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: Section 18-20.4. Fees for financial and insurance occupations Any person, firm or corporation listed in this section shall pay an annual license fee of the amount of five dollars per employee per year, with a minimum of two hundred dollars per year and a maximum of $1000.00 per year. Bankers Banking corporations Bonding companies Brokerage companies Financial agents Insurance companies of whatever class or character Investment companies Lenders of money or chattels and chattel mortgates Loan agents Loan companies Surety companies Trust companies Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Section 18-20.~ nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty pro- ~ided in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City.
