• ; r '-t . <br /> INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN ADAMS <br /> BILL NO 7335 ORDINANCE NO 5167 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE -1UNICIPAL CODE OF <br /> THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING to ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> DEPARTMENTS AND ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE <br /> KNOWN AS "SECTION 2-8.1. RESIDENCY OF DEPARTMENT HEADS," <br /> AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of the City of University <br /> City, relating to Administrative Departments is hereby amended by enacting therein <br /> a new section to be known as "Section 2-8.1. Residency of Department Heads" reading <br /> as follows: <br /> Section 2-8.1. Residency of Department Heads <br /> Department heads hereafter employed by the City must he bonafide <br /> residents of the City of University City, except at the time of <br /> appointment or employment when they need not be residents of the <br /> City of University City, but shall establish residence in the <br /> City within one (1) year from the date of appointment or employ- <br /> ment. This provision may be waived by the City Manager after <br /> advice of the City Council . Department heads shall maintain an <br /> up-to-date record of residence address with the Department of <br /> Personnel . <br /> Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provi- <br /> sions of this ordinance, shall , upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty <br /> provided in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of University <br /> City. <br /> Section 3.
