Commercial motor vehicle - -Any motor vehicle used for business or institutional purposes or having painted thereon or affixed thereto a sign identifying a business, institution, or a princi- pal product or service of a business; or any motor vehicle used primarily for the transportation of persons for a fee or charge such as buses or taxi cabs. Commonly usable residential open space-- (C.U.R.O.S.) Any outdoor area of such size, shape and location as to provide for specific outdoor living functions, such as patios, playgrounds, or swimming pools, or outdoor service functions such as laundry drying. Site area considered as C.U.R.O.S. must be available and accessible for all residential occupants of a given building or development, and may include only those spaces enclosing an area of at least three hundred (300) square feet with a least dimension of fifteen (15) feet. Convenience service retail uses- -Small establishments designed and intended to service the daily or frequent trade or service needs of surrounding population. Such establishments include grocery stores, variety stores, drug stores, coin - operated laundry and dry- cleaning establishments, beauty shops, barber shops, and medical and dental offices. Specifically excluded are automobile filling and service stations and carry -out and drive -in restaurants. Decibel - -A unit of measurement of the intensity of sound. Detached single - family dwelling - -A dwelling designed for single family. occupancy and entirely surrounded by a yard or other separ- ation from buildings or adjacent lots. Development standard -- Regulations which limit the size, bulk or siting conditions of discrete types of residential buildings located within any designated use district. Drive -in restaurant - -An establishment which offers or sells beverages and food directly to consumers in parked motor vehicles for con- sumption on the premises. Dwelling - -A structure or portion thereof used exclusively for residential purposes. Dwelling unit- -One or more rooms in a building. designed for occu- pancy by one family for living purposes and having its own permanent- ly installed cooking and sanitary facilities. Elevator Apartments - -An apartment building of more than three stories in height, with primary access to units above the third floor level typically provided by means of an elevator. Family - -An individual or married couple and the c:�ildren thereof and no more than two other persons related directly to the individual or married couple by blood or marriage, or a group of not more than three persons (excluding servants) not related by blood or marriage, living together as a single housekeeping unit in a dwelling unit.
