'SERVICE'DEFINED," <br /> BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO CLARIFY THE DEFINITION <br /> OF WHAT CONSTITUTES "SERVICE"; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE <br /> AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> s. <br /> 4 <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, f <br /> MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code of the City of Univer- <br /> sity City, relating to retirement and pensions is hereby amended by repealing <br /> Section 25-13 thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 3983, enacted August 5, <br /> 1963, relating to service definition, and enacting therein a new section to <br /> be known as "Section 25-13. 'Service' defined," so that said new section as <br /> so enacted, shall read as follows: <br /> Section 25-13. "Service" defined. <br /> The term "service" , as used in this article, shall mean <br /> the time employed in either the Police Department or the <br /> Fire Department, or a combination of the two, and such <br /> employee has contributed to this uniformed pension plan <br /> during such time. <br /> Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve <br /> any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the <br /> violation of Section 25-13, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. <br /> Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the <br /> provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to <br /> x <br /> the penalty provided in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the <br /> x <br /> City of University City. <br /> 3 <br /> Section 4.
