AGREEMENT FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE LEWIS CENTER REDEVELOPMENT AREA BY AND BETWEEN THE LAND CLEARANCE FOR REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI AND LEWIS CENTER REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION This Agreement is made as of the day of August, 1983, by and between LAND CLEARANCE FOR REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, a public body corporate and politic (which together with any successor public body desig- nated by or pursuant to law is hereinafter termed the "Authority") established pursuant to the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority Law of the State of Missouri (the "Land Clearance Law"), and having its office at 6801 Delmar Boulevard, 4th Floor, University City, Missouri 63130, and LEWIS CENTER REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, a corporation (the "Redeveloper") organized and existing under Chapter 353 Revised Statutes of Missouri, and having its corporate offices at 4625 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri 63108. WHEREAS, the City of University City, (the "City"), pursuant to Chapter 99, Missouri Revised Statutes, 1978, as amended (the "Act"), in February of 1964 adopted a resolution finding that certain blighted areas existed within the City; WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 5402 the City found and determined that the Lewis Center Redevelopment Area more particularly described on Exhibit A attached hereto (the "Project Area") is blighted and in need of redevelopment under the Act; WHEREAS, the Authority has previously approved the Lewis Center Redevelopment Plan (the "Plan") and WHEREAS, the Redeveloper in response to the advertise- ment for proposals submitted a development proposal (the "Proposal") for the development of the Project Area to the Authority on August 2, 1983; WHEREAS, the Authority on August 2, 1983, approved the Proposal for the Project Area; WHEREAS, the Authority on August 2, 1983, by resolu- tion (the "Inducement Resolution") authorized the'financing of the acquisition, rehabilitation, improvement and equipping of the Project Area from the proceeds of the Authority's tax- exempt housing development revenue bonds in the principal amount not to exceed Two Million Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars (~2,900,000);
