AGREEMENT FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE <br />LEWIS CENTER REDEVELOPMENT AREA <br /> BY AND BETWEEN THE LAND CLEARANCE FOR <br /> REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF <br /> UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI AND <br />LEWIS CENTER REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br /> <br /> This Agreement is made as of the day of August, <br />1983, by and between LAND CLEARANCE FOR REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, a public body corporate and <br />politic (which together with any successor public body desig- <br />nated by or pursuant to law is hereinafter termed the <br />"Authority") established pursuant to the Land Clearance for <br />Redevelopment Authority Law of the State of Missouri (the "Land <br />Clearance Law"), and having its office at 6801 Delmar <br />Boulevard, 4th Floor, University City, Missouri 63130, and <br />LEWIS CENTER REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, a corporation (the <br />"Redeveloper") organized and existing under Chapter 353 Revised <br />Statutes of Missouri, and having its corporate offices at <br />4625 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri 63108. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City, (the "City"), <br />pursuant to Chapter 99, Missouri Revised Statutes, 1978, as <br />amended (the "Act"), in February of 1964 adopted a resolution <br />finding that certain blighted areas existed within the City; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 5402 the City found and <br />determined that the Lewis Center Redevelopment Area more <br />particularly described on Exhibit A attached hereto (the <br />"Project Area") is blighted and in need of redevelopment under <br />the Act; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Authority has previously approved the <br />Lewis Center Redevelopment Plan (the "Plan") and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Redeveloper in response to the advertise- <br />ment for proposals submitted a development proposal (the <br />"Proposal") for the development of the Project Area to the <br />Authority on August 2, 1983; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Authority on August 2, 1983, approved the <br />Proposal for the Project Area; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Authority on August 2, 1983, by resolu- <br />tion (the "Inducement Resolution") authorized the'financing of <br />the acquisition, rehabilitation, improvement and equipping of <br />the Project Area from the proceeds of the Authority's tax- <br />exempt housing development revenue bonds in the principal <br />amount not to exceed Two Million Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />(~2,900,000); <br /> <br /> <br />
