1 <br /> INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER ADAMS <br /> BILL N0. 7617 ORDINANCE NO. 5413 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR <br /> VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-128 <br /> THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 5143, ENACTED <br /> FEBRUARY 26, 1979, RELATING TO PARALLEL AND ANGLE <br /> PARKING GENERALLY, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br /> SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-128. PARALLEL AND <br /> ANGLE PARKING GENERALLY; ANGLE PARKING STREET; SPECIAL <br /> a PERMIT FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING WHILE BACK TO CURB," <br /> BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCLUDE THE REQUIRE- ° <br /> MENT THAT THE DISTANCE OF A VEHICLE PARKED AT THE CURB <br /> CAN BE NO GREATER THAN ONE FOOT AS MEASURED FROM THE <br /> CURBSIDE WHEELS TO THE EDGE OF THE ROADWAY, IN <br /> ADDITION TO SEVEN FEET FROM THE FARTHEST POINT OF THE <br /> VEHICLE TO THE EDGE OF THE ROADWAY; CONTAINING A Z <br /> SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> 3 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, x <br /> MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of Uni- <br /> versity City, relating to Motor Vehicles and Traffic is hereby amended by <br /> C <br /> repealing Section 21-128 thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 5143, enacted <br /> a <br /> February 26, 1979, relating to parallel and angle parking generally, and <br /> 3 <br /> enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21-128. Paral- <br /> lel and angle parking generally; angle parking street; special permit for <br /> loading and unloading while back to curb," by amending said section so as to p <br /> E <br /> include the requirement that the distance a vehicle may be parked from the <br /> edge of the roadway can be no greater than one foot from the curbside wheels <br /> to the edge of the roadway in addition to seven feet from the farthest point <br /> of the streetside vehicle to the edge of the roadway, relating to the same <br /> subject, and re-enacting such section so that said section, as so amended <br /> shall read as follows: <br /> Section 21-128. Parallel and angle parking generally, angle parking <br /> streets; special permit for loading and unloading <br /> while back to curb. <br /> (a) Parallel parking required; exceptions. <br /> Except when necessary in obedience to traffic regulation or <br /> traffic signs or signals, the operator of a vehicle shall not <br /> stop, stand or park such vehicle in a roadway other than paral- <br /> lel with the edge of the roadway, headed in the direction of <br /> traffic, and with the farthest projection of the street side of <br /> the vehicle being no greater than seven feet from the right hand <br /> face of the curb or edge of the roadway, and with the curbside <br /> wheels of the vehicle being no greater than one foot from the <br /> right hand face of the curb or edge of the roadway. In the <br /> event of a one way street, that the said vehicle is parked on <br /> the left side of the one way street, the farthest projection of <br /> the street side of the vehicle shall be no greater than seven <br /> feet from the left hand face of curb or edge of roadway, and the <br /> curbside wheels of the vehicle shall be no greater than one foot <br /> from the left hand face of curb or edge of roadway, except as <br /> provided in the following paragraphs: <br /> Y- <br />
