INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER LIEBERMAN BILL NO. 7664 ORDINANCE NO. 5460 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-78 THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 5427, ENACTED MAY 21, 1984, RELATING TO SCHOOL AND PLAYGROUND STOPS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-78. SCHOOL AND PLAY- GROUND STOPS-DESIGNATED," BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO ELIMINATE SCHOOL AND PLAYGROUND STOPS FROM HAZELWOOD LANE AT THE PUBLIC WALKWAY, WILLOW TREE LANE AT THE PUBLIC WALK- WAY, PURDUE AVENUE AT HAZELWOOD LANE, AND HAZELWOOD LANE AT PURDUE AVENUE, WATTS AVENUE AND MELROSE AVENUE, AND MELROSE AVENUE AND MEYER AVENUE; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to motor vehicles and traffic is hereby amended by repealing Section 21-78 thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 5427, enacted May 21, 1984, relating to school and playground stops, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21-78. School and playground stops-Designated," by amending said section so as to eliminate school and playground stops from Hazelwood Lane at the public walkway, Willow Tree Lane at the public walkway, Purdue Avenue at Hazelwood Lane, and Hazelwood Lane at Purdue Avenue, Watts Avenue and Melrose Avenue, and Melrose Avenue and Meyer Avenue; relating to the same subject, and re-enacting said section so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: Sec. 21-78. School and playground stops-Designated. The following street intersections and street crossings are hereby designated as "School and playground stops" within the meaning of Section 21-77 and all vehicles as defined in Section 21-81 shall be brought to a stop at all such places: Balson Avenue at a point five hundred eighty-four feet east of the east line of Hanley Road. Blackberry Avenue at Gay Avenue. Canton Avenue at Laughlin Avenue. Eighty-Second Boulevard north of Milan Avenue in front of Daniel Boone School. Ferguson Avenue at Crest Avenue. Groby Road at a point three hundred fifty-five feet west of the west line of Eighty-First Street. Harvard Avenue at the crosswalk approximately four hundred fifty feet north of Delmar Boulevard.
