INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER LIEBERMAN <br /> BILL NO. 7664 ORDINANCE NO. 5460 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br /> THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND <br /> TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-78 THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 5427, ENACTED MAY 21, 1984, RELATING TO <br /> SCHOOL AND PLAYGROUND STOPS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A <br /> NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-78. SCHOOL AND PLAY- <br /> GROUND STOPS-DESIGNATED," BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO <br /> ELIMINATE SCHOOL AND PLAYGROUND STOPS FROM HAZELWOOD LANE <br /> AT THE PUBLIC WALKWAY, WILLOW TREE LANE AT THE PUBLIC WALK- <br /> WAY, PURDUE AVENUE AT HAZELWOOD LANE, AND HAZELWOOD LANE AT <br /> PURDUE AVENUE, WATTS AVENUE AND MELROSE AVENUE, AND MELROSE <br /> AVENUE AND MEYER AVENUE; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br /> PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br /> MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of <br /> University City, relating to motor vehicles and traffic is hereby amended by <br /> repealing Section 21-78 thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 5427, enacted May <br /> 21, 1984, relating to school and playground stops, and enacting in lieu <br /> thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21-78. School and playground <br /> stops-Designated," by amending said section so as to eliminate school and <br /> playground stops from Hazelwood Lane at the public walkway, Willow Tree Lane <br /> at the public walkway, Purdue Avenue at Hazelwood Lane, and Hazelwood Lane at <br /> Purdue Avenue, Watts Avenue and Melrose Avenue, and Melrose Avenue and Meyer <br /> Avenue; relating to the same subject, and re-enacting said section so that <br /> said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: <br /> Sec. 21-78. School and playground stops-Designated. <br /> The following street intersections and street crossings <br /> are hereby designated as "School and playground stops" <br /> within the meaning of Section 21-77 and all vehicles as <br /> defined in Section 21-81 shall be brought to a stop at all <br /> such places: <br /> Balson Avenue at a point five hundred eighty-four <br /> feet east of the east line of Hanley Road. <br /> Blackberry Avenue at Gay Avenue. <br /> Canton Avenue at Laughlin Avenue. <br /> Eighty-Second Boulevard north of Milan Avenue in <br /> front of Daniel Boone School. <br /> Ferguson Avenue at Crest Avenue. <br /> Groby Road at a point three hundred fifty-five feet <br /> west of the west line of Eighty-First Street. <br /> Harvard Avenue at the crosswalk approximately four <br /> hundred fifty feet north of Delmar Boulevard. <br />
