INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER LEVY <br /> BILL NO 7665 ORDINANCE N0. 5461 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY <br /> OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY <br /> REPEALING SECTION 21-171 THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4620, <br /> ENACTED FEBRUARY 16, 1971, RELATING TO THE PROHIBITION OF COMMERCIAL <br /> VEHICLES ON CERTAIN STREETS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br /> SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-171. COMMERCIAL VEHICLES PRO- <br /> HIBITED; EXCEPTIONS; PERMIT" AND PROVIDING FOR THE PROHIBITION OF <br /> THROUGH TRUCK TRAFFIC ON AMHERST AVENUE FROM NORTH AND SOUTH <br /> BOULEVARD TO HANLEY ROAD; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A <br /> PENALTY. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University <br /> City, relating to motor vehicles and traffic is hereby amended by repealing <br /> Section 21-171 thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 4620, enacted February 16, <br /> 1971, relating to the prohibition of commercial vehicles on certain streets, <br /> and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21-171. <br /> Commercial vehicles prohibited; exceptions; permit" and providing for the <br /> prohibition of through truck traffic on Amherst Avenue from North and South <br /> Boulevard to Hanley Road; relating to the same subject, and re-enacting said <br /> section so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: <br /> Section 21-171. Commercial vehicles prohibited; exceptions; permit <br /> No commerical vehicles, omnibus, with or without passengers, express <br /> wagon, cart, dray, truck or other vehicle carrying goods or article <br /> of any kind, except when required so to do for the purpose of <br /> delivering or collecting goods or articles in the immediate <br /> vicinity, nor procession of carriages or automobiles other than a <br /> funeral procession shall be permitted at any time to drive over, <br /> along or upon any of the hereinafter named streets and places there- <br /> on without the written consent of the Director of Public Works. <br /> Ahern Avenue: From North and South Boulevard to Mt. Olive Avenue. <br /> Amherst Avenue: From North and South Boulevard to Hanley Road. <br /> Barby Lane: From McKnight Road to Kingdel Avenue. <br /> Clemens Avenue: From Kingsland Avenue to Leland Avenue. <br /> Crixdale Avenue: From McKnight Road to Coolidge Avenue. <br /> Eighty-Second Street: From the North City Limits to Olive Boulevard. <br /> Etzel Avenue: From Pennsylvania Boulevard to Olive Boulevard. <br /> Ferguson Avenue: From Olive Boulevard to Vernon Avenue. <br /> Forest Park Parkway: From Pershing Avenue to the West City Limits. <br /> How Avenue: From Wilshire to Mt. Olive Avenue. <br /> Kingdel Avenue: From Delmar Boulevard to West Kingsbury Avenue. <br /> Kingsbury Boulevard: From Big Bend Boulevard to Wellesley Avenue. <br /> Leland Avenue: From Delmar Boulevard to Vernon Avenue. <br /> Lindell Boulevard: From Big Bend Boulevard to Forsyth Boulevard. <br /> Maryland Avenue: From Big Bend Boulevard to the West City Limits. <br />
