Introduced by Councilmember Thompson BILL NO. 7694 (as amended) ORDINANCE NO. 5490 is AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO FIRE CAPTAINS AND FIREFIGHTERS AS ENUMERATED HEREIN FROM AND AFTER JUNE 26, 1985, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 5438. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, r 3 AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 . From and after June 26, 1985, initially payable July 12, 1985, the Fire Captains and Firefighters, hereinafter designated, shall receive as compensation for their services such amounts as may be fixed by the City i Manager in accordance with the Civil Service Rules and Pay Grade Schedule A, included herein, and not less than the lowest amount and not greater than the highest amount set forth in Schedule B. From and after July 1, 1985, all full-time non-executive, non-administrative or non-professional employees shall be subject to the work week or work cycle and regulations relating to overtime work except as noted. A a listing of executive, administrative, and professionally designated employees or positions shall be issued by the City Manager. The work cycle of uniformed Fire personnel below the rank of Battalion Chief shall be 27 days or 216 hours per cycle. 4 Hours worked in excess of these totals, when authorized in advance by the Fire Chief, shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half of base pay, or in lieu thereof, the Fire Chief in his discretion may grant compensatory time off within the same work cycle. Hours worked, including vacation hours, between 204 and 216 hours, in any one cycle shall be compen- sated for, in addition to their regular rate, at one-half (1/2) of that employee's regular hourly rate. Section 3. A) From and after June 26, 1985, initially payable July 12, 1985, Fire Captains and Firefighters shall receive compensation for five years consecutive City service, excepting military leave of absence, in their present classification in the following amounts, from the sixth (6th) year through the tenth (10th) year: In Pay Grade Monthly Amount 11A Firefighters $38 16A Fire Captains $45
