r INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER LEVY BILL N0. 7697 ORDINANCE N0. 5493 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5488 ENACTED ON THE 17TH DAY OF JUNE, 1985, ORDERING THE LEVY AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXES TO BE COLLECTED IN THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1985-86, TO PROVIDE FOR THE GENERAL REVENUE, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY AND READING ROOM, TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF INTEREST AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A DEBT SERVICE FUND FOR ALL OUTSTANDING BONDS OF THE CITY, AND TO PROVIDE FOR A POLICE AND FIREMEN'S RETIREMENT FUND, SO THAT THE RATES OF TAX WILL BE REDUCED HEREIN; AND CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, it is required that the rates of tax levied upon all real, personal and other property subject to taxation for the purposes set forth in the above title be reduced as provided herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is hereby levied upon all real, personal and other r' property subject to taxation in the City of University City, Missouri, for k r general revenue purposes of said City for the fiscal year 1985-86, a tax of FIFTY-FOUR CENTS ($.54) on each ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) of assessed valuation. Section 2. There is hereby levied upon all real, personal and other i property subject to taxation in the City of University City, Missouri, a special ' r tax at the rate of TWENTY-TWO CENTS ($.22) on each ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) of assessed valuation for the fiscal year 1985-86 to provide for the establish- ment and maintenance of a free public library and reading room in said City, authorized by vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election 4 heretofore held, in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, and the ordinance pertaining thereto. Section 3. There is hereby levied upon all real, personal and other property subject to taxation in the City of University City for the fiscal year 1985-86, a special tax at the rate of TWENTY-FOUR CENTS ($.24) per ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) of assessed valuation, to provide for the payment of interest and the establishment of a Debt Service fund for all issued and outstanding bonds of an authorized issue of TWO MILLION SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,650,000.00) of municipal bonds of the City authorized by a vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election called and held on the 2nd day of April, 1963, said election being in pursuance of the provisions of Ordinance No.3949; for all issued and outstanding bonds of an authorized issue of ONE MILLION DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00) of municipal bonds of the City authorized by a vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election called and held i
