INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> BILL NO. 7728 ORDINANCE NO. 5523 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO, <br /> ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, A CONTRACT WITH <br /> ST. LOUIS COUNTY UNDER THE 1986 SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT <br /> AND TRAINING PROGRAM, OF THE JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT <br /> (JTPA) TITLE IIB, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br /> EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND PAPERS REQUIRED FOR <br /> THE EXECUTION OF SAID EXTENDED CONTRACT. <br /> t <br /> WHEREAS, St. Louis County will receive funds from the Missouri <br /> E <br /> Division of Manpower Planning, to conduct Employment and Training Programs <br /> for St. Louis County, and will receive a grant under the Job Training <br /> k <br /> Partnership Act (JTPA) Title IIB, to fund such a program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County Executive is authorized by ordinance to enter <br /> into a contract with the City of University City to carry out a portion of <br /> the activities on Employment and Training Project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City desires to contract with St. <br /> Louis County to participate in the said Summer Youth Employment Program in <br /> the manner and to the extent provided for the period from June 16, 1986, <br /> through its conclusion. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> i <br /> UNIVERSITY CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The City Manager of the City of University City is <br /> hereby authorized to enter into, on behalf of the City, a contract with St. <br /> u <br /> Louis County under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) TITLE IIB. Said <br /> contract provides for the City of University City to receive certain grants <br /> upon the employment of eligible youths to perform certain duties and obli- <br /> gations as set forth in the contract herein attached and made a part hereof. <br /> Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all <br /> necessary documents and papers requred for the consummation and execution of <br /> this said contract. <br /> Section 3.
