4� <br /> • . <br /> will <br /> INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> BILL N0. 7807 ORDINANCE NO. 5603 <br /> AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SEC. 25-47 OF CHAPTER 25 OF THE <br /> UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO RETIREMENT PENS- <br /> IONS AND OTHER RETIREMENT BENEFITS OF EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br /> OF UNIVERSITY CITY OTHER THAN POLICEMEN AND FIREMEN AND THE <br /> SPOUSES AND MINOR CHILDREN OF DECEASED EMPLOYEES, ENACTED <br /> BY ORDINANCE NO. 4221 DATED JUNE 27, 1966, AND ENACTING A <br /> NEW SEC. 25-47 IN ORDER TO INCLUDE IN THE OPTIONAL FORM OF <br /> PENSION THEREIN PROVIDED "DISABILITY RETIREMENT" PENSION IN <br /> ADDITION TO "NORMAL" OR "EARLY RETIREMENT" PENSIONS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br /> MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section I. Sec. 25-47 of Chapter 25 of the University City <br /> Municipal Code relating to retirement pensions and other retirement benefits <br /> of employees of the City of University City other than policemen and firemen <br /> and the spouses and minor children of deceased employees, enacted by Ordinance { <br /> No. 4221 dated June 27, 1966, is hereby repealed and in lieu thereof the <br /> following Sec. 25-47, relating to the same subject, is hereby enacted which <br /> shall read as follows: g <br /> Section 25-47. Optional form of pension. <br /> If the designated beneficiary of a member is the spouse of <br /> the member, the member may elect prior to the member's <br /> normal, early, or disability retirement date, to receive, <br /> in lieu of the member's regular normal, early, or dis- <br /> ability retirement pension, a reduced p ension <br /> payable for <br /> so long as the member shall live, with such reduced <br /> pension continuing to the member's spouse for his or her <br /> lifetime following the member's death. Such reduced <br /> pension shall be the actuarial equivalent of the pension <br /> regularly payable." <br /> Section 2.
