{ INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER ADAMS BILL NO. 7812 ORDINANCE NO. 5608 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, AND AS FURTHER AMENDED BY ORDI- NANCE NO. 5373, ENACTED APRIL 11 , 1983, RELATING TO ZONING, BY REPEALING SECTION 34-37.3, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A is NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-37.3 PERMITTED USES," SO AS TO AMEND SUB-PARAGRAPH 6 FOR DRY CLEANING AND LAUNDRY ESTABLISHMENTS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. WHEREAS, Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City (University City Zoning Code) divides the City into several zoning t districts, and regulates the uses to which the premises located therein may be put; and WHEREAS, Section 34-37.3 thereof provides for permitted uses; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was scheduled to be held at 7:30 P.M., on the i 6th day of July, 1987, in the Council Chamber at City Hall, concerning the } amendment of dry cleaning and laundry establishments in Section 34-37.3 s Permitted Uses; and j WHEREAS, said public hearing was duly held and all suggestions or objections concerning said change in said Section were duly heard and considered by the Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to Zoning is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-37.3 thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 5373 enacted April 11, 1983, relating to Permitted Uses and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 34-37.3 Permitted Uses," by amending said section so as to amend the text of dry clean- ing and laundry establishments in a Limited Commercial District, relating to the same subject and re-enacting said section so that said section as so amended, shall read as follows: 34-37.3 PERMITTED USES 1. Variety stores. 2. Food stores. 3. Custom dressmaking or tailoring shops. 4. Barbershops, hair dressers and beauty parlors. 5. Self-service laundry and dry cleaning establishments. 6. Dry cleaning and laundry establishments employing no more than five persons on the premises at any one time, limited to processing goods received on the premises from retail trade only, with no home delivery service, and using only non-flammable cleaning agents. 7. Shoe repair shops.
