1. Bearing wall, earth retaining wall, column, or other vertical <br /> structural member which leans or buckles to such an extent that <br /> it is likely to partially or completely collapse and injure the <br /> occupants or members of the public. <br />2. Floor, roof, wall, structural member or structural connection <br /> which is overloaded or which has insufficient strength to be <br /> safe for the purpose used so as to be likely to collapse and <br /> injure the occupants or members of the public. <br />3. Part of a structure which is soattached that it is likely to <br /> fall and injure the occupants or members of the public. <br />4. A structure or part thereof which has been so damaged by fire, <br /> wind, or other causes, so as to become dangerous to the occu- <br /> pants or members of the public. <br />5. A structure or part thereof which because of the degree of dis- <br /> repair or lack of maintenance is so unsanitary, vermin or rat <br /> infested, filthy or contaminated, or lacking in ventilation, <br /> sanitary facilities, heating facilities or other code required <br /> equipment that is hazardous to the health or safety of the <br /> occupants or members of the public. <br /> <br />17-110.3 Mandatory demolition or repair of a public nuisance: The following <br />steps shall be taken to effect the mandatory demolition or repair of a struc- <br />ture which is deemed to be detrimental to the health, safety or welfare of the <br />residents of the City of University City and which is declared a public <br />nuiSanCe. <br /> <br />17-110.3.1 Notice of declaration of nuisance: A notice of declaration of <br />nuisance and pre-hearing order shall be prepared in substantially the follow- <br />ing form: <br /> <br />NOTICE OF DECLARATION OF NUISANCE <br />AND PRE-HEANING ORDER <br /> <br />THE STRUCTURE OR STRUCTURES DESCRIBED BELOW RAVE BEEN <br />DECLARED A NUISANCE. <br /> <br />(Insert address or other adequate description of the <br />building or structure.) <br /> <br />(Use one or two of the following three paragraphs.) <br /> <br /> NO PERSON MAY OCCUPY THIS BUILDING, OR ANY PART THEREOF, <br />AFTER ,19 After such date, no <br />person shall occupy, enter, refuse to leave, or remain in <br />this building or any part thereof, except persons directly <br />employed in securing, repairing or removing such building. <br /> <br />THIS STRUCTURE MUST BE REPAIRED TO CURE THE FOLLOWING <br />DEFECTS: <br /> <br />MUST BEGIN ON OR BEFORE , 19 , AND PRO- <br />CEED CONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT UNNECESSARY DELAY TO.COMPLETION. <br />This order may be obeyed by demolition and removal of this <br />structure. Upon failure to repair as herein required, the <br />code official may, after hearing, order repairs to be made <br />and the cost charged to the owner of this property as a <br />special tax lien. <br /> <br /> <br />
