INTRODUCED BY COUNCILM]~fBER $CHOOMER BILL NO. 7907 ORDINANCE NO. 5700 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE WHICH ESTABLISHED THE UNIVERSITY CITY LOOP SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT ENACTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 5247 ON THE 20TM DAY OF OCTOBER, 1980, BY AMENDING SUBPARAGRAPHS A AND B OF SECTION 7 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO THAT THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE ADVISORY COMMISSION SHALL BE INCREASED TO NINE (9) FROM SEVEN (7) MEMBERS, AND SO THAT UPON PASSAGE AND APPROVAL OF THIS ORDINANCE, THE MAYOR, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY COUNCIL, SHALL APPOINT TO THE ADVISORY COMMISSION TWO (2) ADDITIONAL MEMBERS; AND CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City Council of University City, Missouri by Ordinance No. 5247, enacted on the 20th day of October, 1980, established the University City Loop Special Business District; and WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it would be in the best interest of the City that the membership of the Advisory Commission of the University City Loop Special Business District be increased from seven (7) to nine (9) members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section k. It is the intent of the City Council to improve the functioning of the University City Loop Special Business District by increasing the number of the members of the Advisory Commssion of said Loop Special Business District from seven (7) to nine (9) members. Section ~. Subsection A of Section 7 of Ordinance No. 5247 is hereby amended to read as follows: Membership - The Advisory Commission shall consist of nine (8) members, chosen from individuals who own property or operate a municipally licensed business within the boundaries of the District, with reference to their fitn6ss for such offices. No member of the municipal government shall be a member'of the Advisory Commission. Section S. Subsection B of Section 7 of Ordinance No. 5247 is hereby amended to read as follows: Term of Office - Upon passage and approval of this ordinance, the Mayor with the approval of the City Council, shall appoint to the members of said advi- sory Commission two (2) additional members so that each of the nine (9) members shall hold office for three (3) years. With respect to the term of office of the two (2) members added by this amend- ment, their terms shall be deemed to have commenced
