"Irldecent" as used herein shall mean any comment, <br />request, suggestion or proposal that describes, in <br />terms patently offensive as measured by contemporary <br />community standards~ sexual or excretory activities <br /> <br /> "Obscene" as used herein shall mean any comment~ <br />request suggestion or proposal that: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Applying contemporary community standards~ <br />its predominant appeal is to prurient <br />interest in sex; and <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Taken as a whole with respect to the average <br />person¢ applying contemporary community <br />s'tandards~ it depicts or describes sexual <br />conduct in a patently offensive way; and <br /> <br />c) Taken as a whole~ it lacks serious literary~ <br /> artistic, political, or scientific value. <br /> <br />d) <br /> <br />Obscenity shall be judged with reference to <br />its impact upon ordinary adults. <br /> <br /> Section 2. ]'his ordinance shall not be construed so as <br />to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty <br />heretofore incurred by the violation of Section 2~-35.1 nor <br />bar' the prosecution for any such violatipn. <br /> <br /> Section 5. Any person violating any of the provisions <br />of 'this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof~ be subject <br />to the penalty provided in Chapter i, Section 1-8 of the <br />Municipal Code of the.City of University City. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
