IVAINIMUIx4 PROPERTY STAND:',RDS <br /> EASTGATE-WESTGATE PROJECT <br /> <br /> (Me R-43) <br /> <br />REHABILITATION OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />A/1 buildings and properties in the project area shall bc rehabilitated when ncccs- <br />sary and maintained at a level which achieves maximum possible health, social, <br />economic and aesthetic conditions for the residents of the area. <br /> <br />The standards set out below are minimum requirements governing the rehabilita- - <br />tion, alteration and any conversion of existing structure. They should not bc <br />strued as being meant to prohibit or discourage construction, reconstruction, con- <br />version, alteration, addition or repair that results in performance superior to that <br />to be attained by the observance of these standards. <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />For the purpose of these regulations, the following words and phrases shall have <br />the meaning respectively ascribed to them, unless otherwise provided: <br /> <br />Accessory Structure. A detached structure subordinate to the main or <br />principal structure and located ou the same lot, the use of which is cus- <br />tonlary to the main building. <br /> <br />Basement. A story having part but not more than one-half of its height <br />below grade. A basement shall not bc included in computing the number of <br />stories referred to in any part of these regulations. <br /> <br />Bathroom. A room containing bathing and sanitary facilities provided <br />,vithin each living unit consisting of a water closet, a tub or shower and <br />a lavatory; a bathroom shall afford complete privacy. <br /> <br />Building. ~'my structurc enclosed and isolated by cxtcrior walls, con- <br />structed or used for tile housing or enclosure of persons, animals or <br />chattels. <br /> <br />5. The condition or appearance of a building or part thereof, <br />characterized by breaks, holes, rot, crunlbling, cracking, peeling, rust- <br />ing, or other evidence of physical decay or neglect, excessive use of or <br />lack of maintenance. <br /> <br />Duplex. A structure designed to be used for two dwelling units, or occu- <br />pied by two families. <br /> <br />.Dwelling. A dwelling is a structure or portion of a structure designed or <br />used for human habitation. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Multiple. A structure designed for more than t~vo dwelling units <br />or occupied by more than two families. <br />Dwelling Unit.
