INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8051 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5840 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 34-100.8, SUBSECTION "j" <br />OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY ZONING CODE RELATING TO "SOLD" <br />SIGNS AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 5811 ENACTED JULY 8, <br />1991, SO AS TO ELIMINATE THE LIMITATION OF ITS OPERA- <br />TION TO A TRIAL PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF <br />PASSAGE OF ORDINANCE 5811, CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE <br />AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> fa~_Q_~.i~l. S~bSect~i~n~ "j" of Section 34-100.8, of the University <br />City Zoning Code, relating to "Prohibited and Illegal Signs," as <br />amended by Ordinance No. 5811 enacted July 8, 1991 is hereby amended by <br />repealing Section 4 of said ordinance No. 5811, which provides that the <br />ordinance shall become null and void six (6) months from its passage. <br /> <br /> Section Z. Subsection "j" of Section 34-100.8 of the University <br />City Zoning Code is hereby amended to provide as follows: <br /> <br />'Sold' Signs, shall be allowed for only seven working days <br />following the removal of the property from the market. <br /> <br /> Seetio~ ~. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve <br />any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by <br />a violation of the zoning code prior to passage of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> SectionS. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the <br />provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject <br />to the penalty provided in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code <br />of the City of University City. <br /> <br /> Section ~.
