~ILL <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> <br />8101 ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />5889 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO <br />MOTOR VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC AND ENACTING THEREIN A <br />NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-107.3, <br />CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN MOVING MOTOR <br />VEHICLE," SO AS TO COMPLY WITH THE STATUTES OF THE <br />STATE OF MISSOURI; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of University City, relating to Motor Vehicles and Traffic is <br />hereby amended by enacting therein a new section to be known <br />as "Section 21-107.5, Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages in <br />Moving Vehicle," so as to comply with the Statutes of the <br />State of Missouri, reading as follows: <br /> <br />SEC 21-107.5. CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES <br /> IN MOVING MOTOR VEHICLE <br /> <br />No person shall consume any alcoholic beverage <br />while operating a motor vehicle upon the highways, <br />as defined in 301.010 RSMo. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating <br />any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon <br />conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in <br />Chapter 1, Section 1-8, of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />University City. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
