BILL INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER ADAMS NO. 8103 (As Amended) ORDINANCE NO. 5891 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-82 THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 5839, ENACTED JANUARY 27, 1992~ RELATING TO STOP INTERSECTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-82. STOP INTERSECTIONS -- VEHICLES TO STOP AT CERTAIN INTER- SECTIONS," BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO ESTABLISH STOP SIGNS ON MCKNIGHT PLACE (SOUTHBOUND ONLY) AT BARBY LANE, ON MCKNIGHT PLACE (WESTBOUND ONLY) AT MCKNIGHT PLACE, ON MELROSE AVENUE AT BACKER STREE~ AND ORCHARD AVENUE (EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND) AT SHERIDAN DRIVE;CONTAiNING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to Motor Vehicles and Traffic is hereby amended by repealing Section 21-82 'thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 57497 enacted April 16, 1990, relating to stop intersections, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21-82. Stop intersectins--Vehicles to stop at certain intersections," by amending said section so as to establish stop signs on McKnight Place (southbound only) at Barby Lane, on McKnight Place (westbound only) at McKnight Place, on Melrose Avenue at Backer Street and Orchard Avenue (Eastbound and Westbound) at SheridanDrive; re-enacting said section so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: Section 21-82o Stop intersections--Vehicles to stop at certain intersections. The following street in.tFrSFct~ons are hereby designa- ted as "stop intersections" for certain entrances thereto within the meaning of this Chapter. Every operator of a vehicle or other conveyance proceeding on streets listed in the left hand column below shall stop such vehicles or other conveyance before entering or crossing the street opposite in the right hand column below: Ahem Avenue ............................
