BILL NO. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> <br />8124 ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />5912 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2~ OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO <br />OFFENSES - MISCELLANEOUS, AND ENACTING THEREIN A <br />NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 25-52. <br />CONCEALING AN OFFENSE;" AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 23 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of University City, relating to Offenses - Miscellaneous is <br />hereby amended by enacting therein a new section to be known <br />as "Section 25-52. Concealing an Offense;" reading as <br />follows: <br /> <br />2~-52 CONCEALING AN OFFENSE. <br /> <br />I. A person commits the ordinance violation of <br />concealing an offense if: <br /> <br /> (1) He confers or agrees to confer any pecuniary <br />benefit or other consideration to any person in <br />consideration of that person's concealing of any <br />offense, refraining from initiating or aiding in the <br />prosecution of an offense, or withholding any evidence <br />thereof; or <br /> (2) He accepts or agrees to accept any pecuniary <br />benefit or other consideration in consideration of his <br />concealing any offense, refraining from initiating or <br />aiding in the prosecution of an offense, or withholding <br />any evidence thereof. <br /> <br />2. As used in this section, the term "offense" means <br />any felony, misdemeanor, infraction or ordinance <br />violation. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating <br />any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon <br />conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in <br />Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />University City. <br /> <br /> <br />
