Department heads shall not be paid overtime nor receive compensatory time for hours worked in excess of 40 per week. 2. Department heads may grant compensatory time to their designated executive, administrative, or professional employees or hours worked in excess of 40 per week. 5. The normal personnel, and set at 40 hours work week for full-time office, field, maintenance, and police for police and fire executive and administrative employees is per week. 4. Hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week, when authorized in advance by department heads, may be paid at the rate of time and one-half or in lieu thereof. Department heads in their discretion may grant compensatory time off. 5. The average work week of Battalion Chiefs shall be 56 hours. They shall not be compensated for any hours in excess of 56 hours. Section 5.
