INTRODUCED BY COUN~ILMEMBERADAMS <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8157 ORDINANCE NO. 5942 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE <br />PROPERTY AT 6901 DELMAR; FINDING SAID PROPOSAL TO BE IN <br />COMPLIANCE WITH CHAPTER 353 R.S. MO. 1986, AS AMENDED, FINDING <br />THAT THE PROPERTY IS BLIGHTED AND THAT REDEVELOPMENT OF SUCH <br />PROPERTY IS NECESSARY AND IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST UNDER CHAPTER <br />353 R.S. MO. 1986, AS AMENDED, AND IS IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC <br />HEALTH, SAFETY, MORALS AND GENERAL WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE <br />CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY; AUTHORIZING A GRANT OF TAX ABATEMENT TO <br />ANCHOR TEMPLE REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT <br />THIS ORDINANCE; AND CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property at 6901 Delmar Boulevard (the <br />"Property") is located in University City, Missouri; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sanford S. Talley is the owner of the Property; and <br />WHEREAS, Anchor Temple Redevelopment Corporation (the <br />"Redevelopment Corporation") is a Missouri Urban Redevelopment <br />Corporation operating and existing pursuant to the provisions of <br />Chapter 353 R.S. Mo. 1986, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anchor Temple Redevelopment Corporation, in <br />conjunction with Sanford S. Talley, has submitted a redevelopment <br />plan dated November 12, 1993, as revised November 24, 1993, <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this <br />reference (the "Redevelopment Plan") for the rehabilitation of <br />the Property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sanford S. Talley is proposing to transfer title to <br />the Property to the Redevelopment Corporation, subject to the <br />Redevelopment Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in connection with the Redevelopment Plan, the <br />Redevelopment Corporation has requested a grant of tax abatement <br />under Chapter 353 R.S. Moo 1986, as amended, for a term of ten <br />years, said abatement being more particularly described in the <br />Redevelopment Plan; and <br /> <br /> <br />
