Saiorgne House by the Archway or arched opening, or the Chapel <br />Addition to the rear o~ the Original Saiorgne House~ including <br />modi'Fication or change o~' existing materials, painting, <br />tuckpointing~ roo~ing, modi~icatien o~ window or door openings, <br />r'eplace~r, ent o~ window or door openings, or replacement o~ windows <br />or doors may be made; nor shall any substantial modifications o~ <br />the interior o~' the Original. Salorgne House take place without a <br />building pern, it~ nor shall any exterior installation o~ electrical, <br />mechanical or utility devices~ such as cooling towers, meters, <br />trans~or"mers, poles~ or lighting devices take place without a <br />building permini; nor shall the City issue any permit ~o~ any such <br />work without 'First re~'erring the matter to the Historic <br />Preservation Commission 'For review o~ the proposed construction, <br />placement, demolition, removal or alteration to determine <br />conEormi[zy with standards established ~or this building. <br /> <br />'Fo reacll its determjr~atior~, the Commission shall require the <br />submission o~ plans and specifications as necessary to render a <br />decision concerning the appropriateness o~ the proposed <br />undertaking. <br /> <br />Additions to the existing "Salorgne House Complex" (including the <br />[)rig~nal Salorgne House, the Archway, the Dormitory Addition, and <br />the Chapel Addition) shall be set back behind a line 20 ~eet back <br />~rom and parallel to the ~ront wall o~ the Dormitory Addition, as <br />projected sou. th o~' the Bermitory Aodition and north o~* the Original <br />Saiorgne House. Such additions shall extend no ~a~ther north than <br />40 -Feet from the line oE the north wall o~ the Original Salorgne <br />House ,:~r no ~arther south than 40 ~eet ~r'om the 1 i ne o~ the <br />existinq south wail o~ the DormitorV AOdition. Additions and other <br />new construction may also be erected between the Original Salorgne <br />House and the Dormitory Addition behind a line extending north ~rom <br />the line o~' the rear wall of~ the Dormitory Addition and also to the <br />north and south o~ the Salorgne House Corr, plex behind a line <br />e:=.=:tendinc~ north and south ~'rom the rear wall o~ the Chapel <br />Addition. New construction is also permitted within 129 ~eet o~ <br />Raymend Avenue. The ~oregoing setbacks are i 1 lustrated in the <br />accompanying drawing~ "Construction Limits - Salorgne House~" dated <br />Februar,/ 15~ 19'94~ and incorporated into this Ordinance by <br /> <br />New construction intended to enlarge the ~acilities o~' the Salorgne <br />House Corr, plex shall be subject to design review by the Historic <br />Preservation Commission. New construction, whether additions to or <br />independent of the Salorgne House Complex, shall. be constructed to <br />a height no greater than the lesser oEa maximum o~ 2 1/2 stories <br />high or 15 ~=eet below the Original Salorgne House (oriQinal eaves <br />line to the new building eaves line). <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
