( CHAPTER 16 STRUCTURAL LOADS ) (SECTION 1610.0 SNOW LOADS) 1610.3.1 Local Criteria. For purposes of this code, ground snow loads used in determining the design snow loads for roofs shall be 20 psf. (SECTION 1611.0 WIND LOADS) 1611.3.1 Local Criteria: For purposes of this code the basic wind speed shall be seventy (70) miles per hour. (SECTION 162.0 EARTHQUAKE LOADS) 1612.1.3.1 Local Criteria: For the purposes of this code Av (Figure 1612.1.3(1) and Aa (Figure 1612.1.3(2)) shall both be equal to 0.13. ( CHAPTER 17 STRUCTURAL TESTS AND INSPECTIONS ) (SECTION 1705.0 SPECIAL INSPECTIONS) 1705.1 General: The permit applicant shall provide special inspections where application is made for construction as described in this section. The special inspectors shall be provided by the owner and shall be qualified and approved for the inspection of the work described herein. Exceptions 1. Special inspections are not required for work of a minor nature or where warranted by conditions in the jurisdiction. 2. Special inspections are not required for building components unless the design involves construction documents prepared by a registered design professional per Section 114.1. 3. Special inspections are not required for buildings of the R-3 Use Group that do not involve unusual soil conditions or unusual structural design. (SECTION 1813.0 WATERPROOFING AND DAMPPROOFING) 1813.3 Dampprooflng required: Where hydrostatic pressure will not occur as determined by Section 1813.2, floors and walls for other than wood foundation systems and unheated garages, shall be dampproofed in accordance with this section. Wood foundation systems shall be constructed in accordance with NFoPA TR7 listed in Chapter 35. -12-
