BILL NO. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER ADAMS <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 6019 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12A OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO FLOODPLAIN <br />MANAGEMENT, BY REPEALING SECTION 12A-12 THEREOF, RELATING TO <br />FLOOD HAZARD REDUCTION-GENERAL STANDARDS, AND ENACTING IN <br />LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 12A-12. <br />FLOOD HAZARD REDUCTION-GENERAL STANDARDS," BY AMENDING <br />SAID SECTION SO AS TO ADD STANDARDS FOR RECREATIONAL <br />VEHICLES; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A <br />PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 12A of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, <br />relating to floodplain management is hereby amended by repealing Section 12A- <br />12 thereof, relating to flood hazard reduction-general standards, and enacting in <br />lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 12A-12. Flood Hazard <br />Reduction-General Standards," by amending said section so as to add standards <br />for recreational vehicles; relating to the same subject, so that said section, as so <br />amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 17A-12. FLOOD HA7ARD REDUCTION-GENERAL STANDARDS <br /> <br />In all areas of special flood hazards the following provisions are <br />required: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />All new construction and substantial improvements shall be <br />anchored to prevent flotation, collapse or lateral movement of <br />the structure. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />All new construction and substantial improvements shall be <br />constructed with materials and utility equipment resistant to <br />fk)od damage. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />All new construction or substantial improvements shall be <br />constructed by methods and practices that minimize flood <br />damages. <br /> <br /> <br />
