BILL NO. 8244 INTRODUCED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL ORDINANCE NO. 6028 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE MANAGERS OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC ORPHANS' ASYLUMS OF ST. LOUIS FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY AT OR NEAR PARTRIDGE AND RAYMOND AVENUES IN UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, TO BE USED AS A PUBLIC PARK, AND TO PURCHASE SAID PROPERTY THEREFROM, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY SUCH CONTRACT AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS RELATED THERETO. WHEREAS, an election was lawfully held on April 5, 1994, in all voting precincts in the City of University City, Missouri; and WHEREAS, Proposition C, authorizing the City of University City Missouri, to issue general obligation bonds in the amount of $810,000 for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, expanding, repairing, improving and equipping parks in University City, Missouri, was lawfully submitted to the qualified electors of the City of University City, Missouri, at said election; and WHEREAS, said electors lawfully approved and passed Proposition C; and WHEREAS, the City of University City, Missouri, lawfully issued and sold general obligation bonds in the amount of $810,000 for said purpose. WHEREAS, the Managers of the Roman Catholic Orphans' Asylums of St. Louis is willing to sell said land to the City of University City, Missouri for the sum of $124,200, and the City of University City, Missouri, desires to purchase the land for use as a public park to be known as "Partridge Park." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Managers of the Roman Catholic Orphans' Asylums of St. Louis is the owner of a 4.5 acre tract of land at or near Partridge and Raymond Avenues in University City, Missouri. Said land is shown on the attached diagram marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. Section 2. The City of University City, Missouri, is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a contract with the Roman Catholic Orphans' Asylums of St. Louis for the purchase of said land, and to purchase the land therefrom, for $124,200. The land shall be used as a public park to be known as "Partridge Park."
