BILL NO. INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER WAGNER 8256 ORDINANCE NO. 6040 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-142 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING METER FEES IMPOSED; MANNER OF PAYMENT AND SCHEDULE OF FEES; PARKING WITHOUT DEPOSITING FEE IN METER; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-142. PARKING METER FEES IMPOSED; MANNER OF PAYMENT AND SCHEDULE OF FEES; PARKING WITHOUT DEPOSITING FEE IN METER;" BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE THE FEE IN ZONE B (DELMAR BOULEVARD, FROM HARVARD TO EAST CITY LIMITS); CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended by repealing Section 21- 142 thereof, relating to parking meter fees imposed; manner of payment and schedule of fees; parking without depositing fee in meter; and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21-142. Parking meter fees imposed; manner of payment and schedule of fees; parking without depositing fee in meter;" by amending said section so as to increase the fee in Zone B (Delmar Boulevard, from Harvard to East City Limits); so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: SFCTION :? 1-14~. F OF FFFS: PARKING WITHOUT DFPOSITING FFF IN MFTFR For the purpose of defraying the cost to the City of purchasing and installing parking meters and of regulating, supervising and policing the exercise of the privilege of parking in parking meter zones, there is hereby established a parking fee for the parking zones enumerated in Section 21-137 of the following amounts for the privilege of parking a vehicle in a parking space, which fee shall be paid by depositing a co,in or coins in the parking meter adjacent to the parking space in which a vehicle is parked: Zone A -- For six minutes or less, one cent. For thirty minutes or less, five cents. Zone B - For twelve minutes or less, five cents. For sixty minutes or less, twenty-five cents. Zone C - For twelve minutes or less, one cent. For sixty minutes or less, five cents.
