BILL NO. <br /> <br />8257 <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER ADAMS <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />6041 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, <br />BY REPEALING SECTION 34-102.2 THEREOF, RELATING TO <br />PRIMARY SIGNS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-102.2. PRIMARY SIGNS," <br />BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO PERMIT PRIMARY SIGNS <br />ON BUSINESSES OR INSTITUTIONS THAT DO NOT OCCUPY THE <br />GROUND FLOOR OF PREMISES; CONTAINING SAVING AND <br />EMERGENCY CLAUSES, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission, in meetings held at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. on <br />July 26, 1995 and September 27, 1995, recommended an amendment of Section 34- <br />102.2 of the University City Zoning Code by adding provisions permitting primary signs <br />on businesses or institutions that do not occupy the ground floor of premises; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of public hearings to be held by the City Council in the City <br />Council Chambers at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. on September 11,1995 and October 23, 1995 <br />was duly published in the Watchman-Advocate, a newspaper of general circulation <br />within said City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearings were held at the time and place specified in said <br />notice, and all suggestions or objections concerning said amendment were duly heard <br />and considered by the City Council; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, <br />Missouri, relating to zoning is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-102.2, relating <br />to primary signs, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 34- <br />102.2. Primary signs," by amending said section so as to permit primary signs on <br />businesses or institutions that do not occupy the ground floor of premises; so that said <br />section, as so amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
