BILL NO. 8277 INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER ORDINANCE NO. 6060 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6014 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after June 26, 1996, the officials in the position hereinafter set forth may be required to operate their own automobiles and if so required receive, upon prior authorization of the City Manager, the following amounts monthly for expenses paid by them in operating their automobiles in business for the City: Assistant Fire Chief 129 Chief Prevention and Safety Officer 129 Director of Public Works 81 Assistant Director of Public Works 22 Director of Planning (Building Commissioner) 62 Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry 95 Forester 86 Engineering Assistant II 88 Engineering Assistant III 88 Assistant City Engineer 95 Inspector I 125 Inspector II 125 Construction Inspector (prior years classified as building/plumbing/electric inspector) 146 Deputy Building Commissioner 86 Zoning Administrator 62 Director of Finance and Community Development 52 Mayor 10 (estimate) ~. From and after June 26, 1996, all City employees other than those enumerated in Section 1 above, not receiving a regular automobile allowance but operating their own automobiles on City business, upon prior authorization by their department head, shall be compensated at the rate of thirty (30¢) cents per mile. Section 3. In the event the City furnishes any of the officials enumerated above automotive equipment to be used in their work, the amounts specified for operating their own private vehicles shall be terminated.
