BILL NO. <br /> <br />8288 <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />6070 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE Cf1Y OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND <br />TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-82 THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5891, ENACTED NOVEMBER 9, 1992, RELATING TO <br />STOP INTERSECTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-82. STOP INTERSECTIONS- <br />VEHICLES TO STOP AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS," BY AMENDING SAID <br />SECTION SO AS TO ESTABLISH STOP SIGNS ON LYNN AVENUE AT <br />JACKSON AVENUE; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to <br />motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended by repealing Section 21-82 thereof, relating <br />to stop intersections, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21- <br />82. Stop intersections--vehicles to stop at certain intersections," by amending said section <br />so as to establish stop signs on Lynn Avenue at Jackson Avenue; so that said section, as so <br />amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 71-87. Stop intersections -- vehicles to stop at certain intersections. <br /> <br />The following street intersections are hereby designated as "stop intersections" for <br />certain entrances thereto within the meaning of this Chapter. Every operator of a <br />vehicle or other conveyance proceeding on streets listed in the left hand column <br />below shall stop such vehicles or other conveyance before entering or crossing the <br />street opposite in the right hand column below: <br /> <br />Ahern Avenue ............................. Groby Road <br />Ahern Avenue ............................. Mt. Olive Avenue <br />Alley between Bartmer & Chamberlain ........ 66th St. Walkway <br />Alley between Bartmer & Chamberlain ........
