BILL NO. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER MUNKEL <br /> <br />8302 ORDINANCE NO. 6084 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING DEFERRED COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO CERTAIN <br />FIRE AND POLICE OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES FROM AND AFTER DECEMBER <br />1, 1996. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. From and after December 1, 1996, if the Fire Chief or Police <br />Chief participates in a deferred compensation plan under Section 457 of the <br />Internal Revenue Code, the City will pay additional compensation to the Chief in <br />an amount equal to that deferred by the Chief in any two-week pay period, <br />provided that the additional compensation shall be deferred by the employee into <br />such plan and shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100) for that two-week pay <br />period. <br /> <br /> Section 2. From and after December 1, 1996, if an Assistant Fire Chief, <br />Battalion Fire Chief, Prevention and Safety Fire Chief, Police Captain or Police <br />Ueutenant participates in a deferred compensation plan under Section 457 of the <br />Internal Revenue Code, the City will pay additional compensation to the <br />employee in an amount equal to that deferred by the employee in any two-week <br />pay period, provided that the additional compensation shall be deferred by the <br />employee into such plan and shall not exceed eighty dollars ($80) for that two- <br />week pay period. <br /> <br /> Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />its passage as provided by law. <br /> <br />PASSED this <br /> <br />day of November , 1996. <br /> <br /> <br />
