AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-143 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING PERMITS GENERALLY, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-143. PARKING PERMITS GENERALLY," BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE THE COST OF A PARKING PERMIT FROM TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00) TO THIRTY DOLLARS ($30.00) PER MONTH, OR TO TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00) PER MONTH IF TEN (10) OR MORE PARKING PERMITS ARE ISSUED TO A SINGLE APPLICANT; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, relating to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended by repealing Section 21- 143 thereof, relating to parking permits generally, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21-143. Parking permits generally," by amending said section so as to increase the cost of a monthly parking permit from ~~l.~511ars (S20....,.00.~i"~t,,,hi,.rty.,dollars ($30.00) per month,. or to twenty .d~[~.~. ¢,~,_~:~)~per month .lf.,t.e'o~.(lO), or more parking permits are issued to a building owner; so that said section, as so amended shall read as follows: Section 21-143. Parkin.a Dermits generally. The Director of Finance is authorized to issue permits to applicants authorizing the parking of vehicles in parking meter zones E & F without the necessity of depositing parking fees as required in such parking meters. Parking permits for zone E shall be issued only to a certain vehicle and the motor vehicle license number shall be furnished to the Chief of Police by the Director of Finance. Parking permits for zone F shall be issued to an individual or business and will be transferrable. The cost of each permit shall be thirty dollars ($30.00) per month or twenty dollars ($20.00) per month for any applicant who is issued ten (10) or more parking permits for a given month, payable on or before the first (1~) day of each month or payable in advance for any succeeding twelve (12)-month period, or parts thereof. Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Section 21-143, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation.
