BILL NO. 54-© ORDIN CE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCEAMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY RELATING TO ZONING BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 34-51.5, RELATING TO PROHIBITED HOME <br />OCCUPATIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION <br />TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-51.5, . PROHIBITED HOME <br />OCCUPATIONS" BY DELETING SUBSECTION "H. TOURIST HOME" <br />AND CHANGING CURRENT SUBSECTION "I." TO SUBSECTION "H." <br />; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />University City (University City Zoning Code) divides the City <br />several zoning districts, and regulates the uses to which the <br />premises located therein may be put; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section <br />Occupations"; and <br /> <br />34-51.5 provides for <br /> <br />"Prohibited Home <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission in a meeting held at the <br />City Hall on March 26, 1997, at 7:30 p.m. recommended an amendment <br />of Section 34-51.5 of the University City Zoning Code by deleting <br />"h. Tourist Home" from Section 34-51.5 and changing current <br />subsection "i." to subsection "h."; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held by the City <br />Council in the City Council Chambers at City Hall at 7:30 p.m., <br />June 9, 1997, was duly published in the St. Louis Countian, a <br />newspaper of general circulation within said. City on May 17, 1997; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearing was held at the time and place <br />specified in said notice, and all suggestions or objections <br />concerning said amendment were duly heard and considered by the <br />Council; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF ~HE.~CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />University City, Missouri, relating to zoning is hereby amended by <br />repealing Section 34-51.5 thereof, relating to Prohibited Home <br />Occupations, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known <br />as "Section 34-51.5, Prohibited Home Occupations," relating to the <br />same subject, and re-enacting said section so that said section, as <br />so amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />34.51.5 Prohibited home occupations. <br /> <br />Permitted home occupations shall not in any event be <br />deemed to include: <br /> <br />a. Barbershops and beauty parlors. <br /> <br /> <br />
