BILL NO. ¢ 3 ~ ORDINANCE NO. ~/,:~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND <br />TRAFFIC, BY ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br />"SECTION 21-174.3. THROUGH TRAFFIC PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN <br />STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS; CONTAINING A SAVING <br />CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, relating <br />to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended by enacting therein a new section to be known as <br />"Section 21-174.3. Through traffic prohibited on certain streets during designated hours;" reading <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 21-174,3. Through traffic prohibited on certain streets during designated hours. <br /> <br />Through traffic is prohibited during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. <br />to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, between Olive Boulevard and Etzel Avenue, <br />on Bartmer, Colby and Purcell Avenues. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works shall erect and maintain suitable signs giving notice <br />that such through traffic is prohibited. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in violation of this <br />section. <br /> <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, finn or corporation <br />from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 21, nor bar the prosecution for any <br />such violation. <br /> <br />Section 3. Unless othcrwise provided herein, any person, finn or corporation violating any of <br />the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided <br />in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage as provided <br />by law. <br /> <br /> <br />
