BILL NO. ¢ 3 ~ ORDINANCE NO. ~/,:~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-174.3. THROUGH TRAFFIC PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, relating to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended by enacting therein a new section to be known as "Section 21-174.3. Through traffic prohibited on certain streets during designated hours;" reading as follows: Section 21-174,3. Through traffic prohibited on certain streets during designated hours. Through traffic is prohibited during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, between Olive Boulevard and Etzel Avenue, on Bartmer, Colby and Purcell Avenues. The Director of Public Works shall erect and maintain suitable signs giving notice that such through traffic is prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in violation of this section. Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, finn or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 21, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 3. Unless othcrwise provided herein, any person, finn or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage as provided by law.
