Saint L~uis I~O 631~1-6875 e~F~ 5~9~9~ <br /> <br />December 9, 1997 <br /> <br />City of University City <br />6801 Delmar Blvd. <br />St. Louis, MO 63130 <br /> <br />RE: Water Main Easement - Harvard Avenue <br /> <br />Gentlemen: <br /> <br />Our existing water main on Harvard Avenue has had several water main breaks over the past few years, <br />thereby inconveniencing many people on or adjacent to Harvard Avenue. This main is now scheduled for <br />replacement. Therefore, we are requesting cooperation of the property owners along the west side of <br />Harvard Avenue to grant us the necessary easements in which a new water main can be installed by us to <br />replace this old existing water main. <br /> <br />St. Louis County Water company will agree to the following as a covenant for the granting of the easement: <br /> <br />1. We will sod the grassy areas we damage on your property as a result of our construction work. <br /> <br />We will open-cut any driveway within the easement area, granular backfill our excavation ditch across it, <br />and install a temporary "cold patch" asphalt repair. After our construction work on Harvard Avenue has <br />been completed, we will saw-cut the perimeter of our excavation ditch across your driveway, remove the <br />temporary cold patch repair, and make our final repair using the same material as the existing driveway. <br /> <br />3. We will guarantee settlement of our water main construction ditch on your property for a period of 24 <br /> months following the date of our water main construction. <br /> <br />If you are in agreement with our offer for the easement, we would appreciate one copy of the enclosed <br />easement being signed, notarized and returned in the self-addressed envelope provided at your earliest <br />convenience.
