BILL NO. ~2 ~ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />( 160 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 33 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, RELATING TO THE WEIGHTS <br />AND MEASURES, BY REPEALING CHAPTER 33 AND ENACTING IN LIEU <br />THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER TO BE KNOWN AS "CHAPTER 33. WEIGHTS <br />AND MEASURES," THEREBY AMENDING SAID CHAPTER SO AS TO <br />ADOPT THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY WEIGHTS AND MEASURES CODE; <br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City, Missouri has entered into a contract with St. Louis <br />County, Missouri whereby St. Louis County provides weights and measures services to the City of <br />University City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said contract requires the City of University City to amend its weight and <br />measures ordinances to conform to the St. Louis County Weights and Measures Code. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 33 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, <br />relating to weights and measures, is hereby amended by repealing said Chapter 33 and enacting in <br />lieu thereof a new chapter to be known as "Chapter 33. Weights and Measures;" so that Chapter 33, <br />as so amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 33-1. Adoption of St. Louis County Weights and Measures Code. <br /> <br />The St. Louis County, Missouri Weights and Measures Code, as amended, is hereby adopted <br />as the Weights and Measures Code of the City of University City, Missouri, as if fully set <br />out herein. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or <br />corporation from any penalty incurred by the violation of Chapter 33, nor bar the prosecution of any <br />such violation. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties provided in Chapter 33, and in <br />Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City. <br /> <br /> Section 4. <br />provided by law. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, as <br /> <br /> <br />
