Rev. 1987 <br /> <br />618.550 <br /> <br />Loaded Vehicles to Be Weighed Only on Scales on Which Vehicle While Empty Was <br />Weighed. <br /> <br /> Vehicles, when used in hauling solid fuel, shall be weighed only on scales on which the vehicle while <br />empty shall have been weighed within one week prior thereto and no bonded weigher shall issue his certificate <br />of weighing unless the vehicle used in the hauling shall have been weighed while empty on the scale operated <br />by him within one week prior thereto. <br /> <br />618.560 <br /> <br />Solid Fuel Sold in Baskets. <br /> <br /> In all cases where solid fuel is sold in baskets or other similar receptacles, such solid fuel shall be sold <br />b net weight only. All such baskets or other receptacles, whenever containing solid fuel for sale or delivery, <br />shall be marked or labeled as to plainly show the net weight of the comems thereof. No person to whom <br />this Section applies shall sell or offer for sale, or have in his possession for the purpose of sale, solid fuel in <br />baskets or other like receptacles which are not so marked as to plainly show the correct net weight of the <br />contents thereof. <br /> <br />(a) Method of sale of fuel wood. All wood for fuel purposes shall be sold or offered for sale by <br />the cord or fractional part thereof, with the exception of kindling. When such fuel wood is sold, it <br />shall be accompanied by a bill of sale bearing the name and address of the seller, the name and address <br />of the purchaser, and the quantity of wood contained in the delivery in terms of cords or fractional <br />parts thereof. At the time of delivery, such bills of sale, signed by the seller, shall be given to the <br />purchaser specified thereon. <br /> <br />618.570 Tolerances. <br /> <br /> On the re-weighing of any load of solid fuel or any empty vehicle used in the delivery of such fuel, <br />the following tolerances shall be permitted to cover variations in the tare weights of the vehicles used and <br />the natural variations between vehicle scales. Under no circumstances are the tolerances established by this <br />section to be used to shortweigh or as an excuse for short-weighing, but are permitted only to cover <br />variations herein specified. The net weight of the solid fuel shall not be less th~ 97% of the net weight <br />represented, with a maximum tolerance of 150 pounds for one load, regardless of the size of the load <br />weighed. The gross weight shall not be less than the weight represented, less the tolerance permitted for the <br />net weight of the load. The tare weight shall not be more than forty pounds less than the true weight of the <br />empty vehicle. <br /> <br />618.580 <br /> <br />Fees for Weighing: Charging Improper Fee, Etc. <br /> <br />(1) Dealers in solid fuel shall be permitted to charge and receive a reasonable fee for any load of <br />solid fuel weighed on their scales, except solid fuel in quantities less than 1,000 pounds.
