BILL NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, RELATING TO MOTOR <br />VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-104 THEREOF, <br />RELATING TO TURNING AT INTERSECTIONS; SECTION 21-104.1 <br />THEREOF, RELATING TO LEFT TURN PROHIBITED; AND SECTION 21-173 <br />THEREOF, RELATING TO LEFT TURNS PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN <br />STREETS; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SECTIONS TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-104. TURNS AT INTERSECTION"AND "SECTION <br />21-173. LEFT TURNS PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS- AT ALL TIMES <br />OR DURING DESIGNATED HOURS;" THEREBY AMENDING SECTION 21 <br />104 SO AS TO CONFORM TO STATE LAW; AMENDING SECTION 21-173 SO <br />AS TO PROHIBIT LEFT TURNS BY NORTHBOUND VEHICLES ON HANLEY <br />ROAD, FROM THE NORTHERN POINT OF OLIVE BOULEVARD TO A POINT <br />THREE HUNDRED (300) FEET NORTHWARD, <br /> <br />S~?'.~, ,P~. ~ ,~O.,, ~, ~ ~., ~,~~,:~; AND THEREBY CONSOLIDATING SAID SECTIONS SO AS TO <br />LIST IN SECTION 21-173 ALL PROHIBITED LEFT TURNS AT DESIGNATED <br />LOCATIONS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A <br />PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, <br />relating to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended by repealing Section 21-104 thereof, <br />relating to turning at intersections; Section 21-104.1 thereof, relating to left turn prohibited; and <br />Section 21-173 thereof, relating to left tums prohibited on certain streets; and enacting in lieu thereof <br />new sections to be known as "Section 21-104. Turns at intersection" and "Section 21-173. Left tums <br />prohibited on certain streets- At all times or during designated hours;" so that said sections, as so <br />amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 21-104. Turns at intersection. <br /> <br />A. The driver of a vehicle intending to turn at an intersection shall do so as follows: <br /> <br />Right tums. - Both the approach for a right tum and a right turn shall be made as <br />close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway. <br /> <br />Left tums. - The driver of a vehicle intending to turn left at any intersection shall <br />approach the intersection in the extreme left-hand lane lawfully available to the <br />traffic moving in the direction of travel of such vehicle and, after entering the <br />intersection, the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection in a lane <br /> <br /> <br />
