BILL NO. ¢~)~ ~ AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND SURRENDERING A PORTION OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF BENLOU AVENUE, FROM STANFORD AVENUE TO A POINT APPROXIMATELY 133 FEET NORTHWARD, BUT RESERVING ANY PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENTS, AND DIRECTING THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE RECORDER OF DEEDS OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MISSOURI. WHEREAS, Benlou Avenue is a public street in the West University No. 3 and Central Suburbs Subdivisions in University City, in St. Louis County, Missouri; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held at the City Hall of University City, Missouri at 7:30 p.m. on May 18, 1998, to hear any comments concerning the proposed vacation of a portion of the fight-of-way of Benlou Avenue, from Stanford Avenue to a point approximately 133 feet northward; and WHEREAS, all comments concerning the proposed vacation of said right-of-way were heard. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A portion of the right-of-way of Benlou Avenue in University City, in St. Louis County, Missouri, and all of University City's right, title and interest therein is hereby vacated, surrendered and quitclaimed, reserving, however, all public utility easements, if any; said property is more specifically described as follows: This parcel of land is the northernmost 132.8 feet, more or less, of the Benlou Avenue (50 feet wide) right-of-way, and is located partly in West University No. 3 Subdivision and partly in Lot 39 of Central Suburbs Subdivision; both subdivisions are located in University City, Missouri, in St. Louis County, Missouri. This parcel of land is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the southwest comer of Lot No. 15 of Block No. 4 of West University No. 3, a subdivision located in the City of University City, in St. Louis County, Missouri; then proceed 132.90 feet northwardly along the west boundary line of Lot No. 15 to a point, being the northwest comer of Lot No. 15; then proceed 50 feet westwardly along a line which is the north boundary of West University No. 3 Subdivision, and the prolongation of that line, to a point; then proceed southwardly along a line located 25 feet west of and parallel to the west boundary of West University No. 3 Subdivision for a distance of 132.7 feet to a point, which is located on the north right-of-way line of Stanford Avenue ( 50 feet wide). Then proceed eastwardly 50 feet to the southwest comer of Lot No. 15 of block No. 4 of the West University No. 3 Subdivision, which is the point of beginning. The area is 0.152 acres, more or less.
