ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE PROVDING FOR TI-[E REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6060 BE IT ORDA1NED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after June 24, 1998, the officials in the position hereinafter set forth may be required to operate their own automobiles and if so required receive, upon prior authorization of the City Manager, the following amounts monthly for expenses paid by them in operating their automobiles in business for the City: Assistant Fire Chief Chief Prevention and Safety Officer Director of Public Works Deputy Director of Public Works Operations Director of Planning Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Forester Project Manager Deputy Director of Engineering Inspector I Inspector II Construction Inspector (may be classified as building/ plumbing/electric inspector) Deputy Building Commissioner Zoning Administrator Director of Finance and Community Development Mayor 140 140 160 50 75 100 100 100 9O 140 140 160 100 75 75 25 Section 2. From and after June 24, 1998, all City employees other than those enumerated in Section 1 above, not receiving a regular automobile allowance but operating their own automobiles on City business, upon prior authorization by their department head, shall be compensated at the rate of thirty two and one-half cents (32.5 ¢) per mile. Section 3. In the event the City furnishes any of the officials enumerated above automotive equipment to be used in their work, the amounts specified for operating their own private vehicles shall be terminated. Section 4. The officials set forth in Section 1, who are required to operate their own automobiles may, after prior authorization of the City Manager, receive compensation as provided
