BILL NO. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-143 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING PERMITS GENERALLY, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-143. PARKING PERMITS GENERALLY," THEREBYAMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ISSUE PARKING PERMITS FOR PARKING METER ZONES D AND F INSTEAD OF E AND F; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 21 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, relating to motor vehicles and traffic, is hereby amended by repealing Section 21 - 143 thereof, relating to parking permits generally, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 21 - 143. Parking permits generally," thereby amending said section so as to authorize the Director of Finance to issue parking permits for parking meter zones D and F instead of E andF; so that said section, as so amended shall read as follows: Section 21 -143. Parking permits generally. The Director of Finance is authorized to issue permits to applicants authorizing the parking of vehicles in parking meter zones D & F without the necessity of depositing parking fees as required in such parking meters. Parking permits for zone D shall be issued only to a certain vehicle and the motor vehicle license number shall be furnished to the Chief of Police by the Director of Finance. Parking permits for zone F shall be issued to an individual or business and will be transferrable. The cost of each permit shall be thirly dollars [830.00] per month or twenly dollars [$20.00] per month for any applicant who is issued ten (10] or more parking permits for a given month, payable on or before the first (1st] day of each month or payable in advance for any succeeding twelve [12)-month period, or parts thereof, Section 2, This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Section 21 - 143, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri.
