For moving traffic violations the total is $9.00; for nonmoving traffic violations, S1.00;
and for all other violations, $5.00. This scheme was required under state law.

State law now requires a minimum of $5 O0 for the crime victims' compensation fund in all
cases, and permits an additional $300 for law enforcement training and $1.00 for battered
persons' shelters.

The effect of this bill is to maintain the $900 total for moving traffic violations and increase the
total to $9.00 for all other violations.

Feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter.

i~hcneF!.re lY'·
JFM:lku

Enclosure
