BILL NO. '~L) I C~ ORDINANCE NO, AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A NEW MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURi AND REPEALING THE EXISTING CODE; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 3970 the City of University City, Missouri ("Cid') adopted a code entitled "The Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri"; and WHEREAS, said Code has been amended from time to time, but it is outdated and in need of revision; and WHEREAS, Book Publishing Company has prepared a loose-leaf binder containing the codified ordir.ances of the City, with certain exceptions and revisions, and the addition of new provisions, all of which have been recommended by City staff after a comprehensive review of the Code; and WHEREAS, at least three copies of the binder are on file in the office of the City Clerk and are available for inspection by the public at all reasonable business hours. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 The Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, adopted pursuant to Ordinance No. 3970, and as amended through Ordinance No. 6178 on July 27, 1998, is hereoy repealed. Section 2. The attached "University City Municipal Code", marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof, is hereby adopted as the new municipal code of the City. This adoption is authorized by this ordinance and is made in conformity with Section 71.943 RSMo and any amendments thereto. Section 3. The following ordinances, passed subsequent to Ordinance No. 6178, but prior to this adoption of the University City Municipal Code, are hereby adopted and made a part of the University City Municipal Code: Ordinance Nos. 6179, 6180, 6181, 6182, 6183, 6184, 6185, 6186, 6187 and 6188. Section 4 It shall be sufficient to refer to the City's municipal code as the University City Municipal Code in any prosecution for the violation of any provision thereof or in any proceeding at law or in equity. It is sufficient to designate any ordinance adding to, amending, correcting or repealing all or any part or portion of the University City Municipal Code as an addition to, amendment to, correction or repeal thereof. References may be made to the titles, chapters, sections and subsections of the University City Municipal Code and such references shall apply to those titles, chapters, sections or subsections as they appear therein,
